First Baptist Church of Sparta is a Southern Baptist Church,
with a history rich in love and faith, with Christians who share a common faith.

We Believe :
- The Bible is the sole authority for faith and practice.
- God calls us directly, as individuals. Believers accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior,
and are guided by the Holy Spirit.
- Each church is autonomous ( self-governing ), with a regenerate membership - people come into the church as adult, youth,
or child believers, not as infants.
- Each person and church is bound by the Great Commission of Christ to work in the areas of missions and evangelism.

Just as Jesus Christ came "not to be ministered unto, but to minister ..." we accept our responsibility to reach out in
service to others. this applies both within the church family and outside our fellowship.

The primary reason we meet together is to focus our attention on God, giving Him our worship and receiving His blessing
and inspiration. Each of these occasions is a special time of spiritual refreshment.

How May I Become A Member ?
By Profession Of Faith And Baptism -
If you will receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord and follow Him in baptism by immersion, we will
welcome you into our fellowship.
By Letter -
If you hold membership in a church of like faith and order, we will be pleased to welcome you into our church
family should God direct you here. We will happily take care of the appropriate details of transferring your membership.
By Baptism -
If you are already a Christian and have never been baptized or you are a member of a church that does not practice baptism
of believers by immersion, we invite you to join by baptism. This gives testimony of your salvation and your obedience
to God.
By Statement -
In the event church membership records are not available for a transfer of membership but you have received Jesus Christ
as your Savior and Lord and have been baptized by immersion, we will gladly accept you upon statement of these conditions.
